MARY TYLER MOORE

The American actress would be remembered for her stellar performances in the 1967 film, Thoroughly Modern Millie and Ordinary People of the 1980s. She was also popular for her rendering of The Mary Tyler Moore Show as well as the hit sitcom, The Dick Van Dyke Show. She was nominated for an Academy Award. Mary was not just an amazing actress but a philanthropist advocating for animal rights, vegetarianism and of course, diabetes.

She was an alcoholic in her younger years but wisely sought the assistance of alcohol rehab. In 1969, she was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and in 2014, suffered from kidney and heart complications, almost blind at this stage. She died on January 25 2016 from cardiopulmonary arrest, hypoxia and aspiration pneumonia. She needed no wrongful death attorney as she died of natural causes.
