JOHN LENNON

John Lennon was a founding member of rock band The Beatles, the best-selling band in world history. The English rock band is also dubbed as one that revolutionized popular music and pop culture. John also had a successful solo career following the band’s split. His final album, Double Fantasy, which was released right before his death, won Album of the Year at the 1982 Grammys. He was, however, killed three weeks after the album was released.

He was shot by his fan named Mark David Chapman, who had traveled from Hawaii. In an interview, Mark said that he was so angry by John’s latest public statement, but let’s not dig deeper into that. John Lennon died financially buoyant as he was at the height of his career and was known for his other ventures. In a 1975 interview with Spin, he asked about his preferred businesses, and he stated that he told his financial advisors this: “Give me a list of things I can invest in that do not involve exploiting people.”
