JOEL ROBUCHON

Joel Robuchon was a superstar chef known for earning more than 30 Michelin stars across 24 restaurants on three continents. “The older I get, the more I realize the truth, which is: the simpler the food, the more exceptional it can be,” Joel said in an interview in 2014. This French chef and restaurateur was named Chef of the Century by the Gault Millau in 1988.

He had proven his top spot in the culinary world by operating more than 12 restaurants all over the world, including in Bangkok, Las Vegas, London, Macau, Montreal, Shanghai, New York, Paris, Tokyo, and many other prime cities. Joel earned the highest record of 32 Michelin stars in his heyday. He also published several cookbooks that are still used by many today. He died at 73 years old at his home in Geneva and was survived by his wife Jeanine and his kids Eric and Sophie, who also have investments in the food industry.
