MICHELLE DORIS THOMAS

Actress and comedian Michelle Thomas started her career with her portrayal of Justine Phillips in NBC’s sitcom The Cosby Show and as Myra Monkhouse in ABC/CBS show Family Matters. She won the NAACP Image Award as Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama Series for her role in The Young and the Restless. The actress lived a healthy lifestyle with an even healthier diet. She was never the type to smoke and drink too.

That is why when she was diagnosed with a rare intra-abdominal type of cancer, people were shocked. She underwent surgery twice in 1997 and 1998 in the course of her battle to live. However, in an unfortunate event, the cancer growth ruptured and metastasized to her other organs. She was released from the hospital to spend time with her family and friends for Thanksgiving in 1998. She died shortly after in December 1998 at age 30, leaving her credit reports still in a good record.
