LYNNE THIGPEN

Lynne Thigpen was an American actress and singer famed for her role as The Chief in the Carmen Sandiego TV series. The multi-talented actress appeared in almost 40 movies and various television series, some of which won her several nominations and awards, including a Tony Award for her portrayal of Dr. Judith Kaugman in An American Daughter. Apart from that award, the actress bagged several nominations, including six Daytime Emmy Awards.

She was also an amazing voice actor, and she was the voice behind the character Luna in Disney’s Bear in the Big Blue House. Her final film was the 2003 film Anger Management. Lynne died on March 12, 2003, from a serious condition of a cerebral hemorrhage. The final autopsy report showed that she died from acute cardiac dysfunction due to the hemorrhage in her brain. We hope she had her life insurance plans well in place so her bereaved family won’t have to struggle financially.
