JAMES AVERY

James LaRue Avery is an American role actor, voice actor and poet. He is famous for the roles of the paper shredder in “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”, Steve Yeager in “Brady Beam Movie” and Aladdin’s Harud Hazi Bin. James starred as Uncle Phil in the sitcom, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, a character he so remarkably portrayed that he was enlisted among the ‘50 Greatest Television Dads of All Time’.

The prolific television actor was also famous for his voice acting in various animated series including the voice of James Rhodes in the Iron Man series. James Avery died at 68 from open surgery complications in 2013 after open-heart surgery. Prior to his death, he was being treated for diabetes Type 2, kidney and heart diseases. Fortunately for him, he had no need for drug or alcohol rehab, never had mortgage disputes either.
