PAT MORITA

When you talk of highly celebrated Asian-American actors, you must mention Pat Morita. Talk of his prominent roles in Karate Kid has Mr. Miyagi, the 1998 animated film, and Mulan as the Emperor of China. His portrayal of Ah Chew in Sanford and Son sitcom catapulted him into fame among other stellar screen performances. Pat Morita is the lead actor in the TV show Mr. T and Tina (1976) and the police-themed drama Ohara (1987-1988).

These two TV shows became one of the few TV shows starring Asian American TV. Pat’s life came to an end on November 24th, 2005 after a kidney failure. Fortunately, though, he was free of any bankruptcy squabbles and he kept his slate clean of drug or alcohol rehab his entire life. Dying without a will and testament from an attorney would be dangerous for a famous star like Pat. Could he have died without a will for those he left behind? We hope not.
