JOAN RIVERS

Joan Rivers was a renowned actress and comedian. Her real name was Joan Alexandra Molinsky. In the mid-60s, she rose to fame for her appearance in The Tonight Show. She then went on to host an eponymous TV program, becoming the first woman to host a late-night TV talk show. She also co-hosted Fashion Police on E! and then starred in the reality show Joan and Melissa: Joan Knows Best?

Her most remembered stint was her acts of controversial comedic persona, which gathered many fans. She also portrayed a sharply acerbic, heavily self-deprecating character towards celebrities. In 2014, while having throat surgery, Joan ceased breathing. Despite being placed on life support, she lost her life in September 2014 at the age of 81. Through her family lawyers, her daughter later filed a lawsuit against the hospital after post-mortem reports showed that the actress suffered brain damage due to a shortage of oxygen.
