ALAN LADD

Alan Walbridge Ladd was an American actor, film, and television producer. He was highly successful in the movies of the 1940s and early 1950s, especially in Westerners such as Shane and film noir. He often partnered with Veronica Lake in noir films such as This Gun for Hire. His other famous works include The First Two Years of the Mast, his first Western and color film The Whispering Smith, and The Great Gatsby.

During his teen years, he was an outstanding athlete, a runner, and a swimmer. However, he stopped being an athlete when he acquired a few injuries. Later on, he landed few acting jobs on the radio and was discovered by former actress Sue Carol. Then, the rest was history. Sadly, Alan was found dead on his bed on January 29, 1964. His lawyers and doctors determined the cause of death to be cerebral edema. He was 50 years old.
