Michael Jeter enthralled his audience with his roles in various television shows, including Sesame Street, Evening Shade, and films like Jurassic Park III, Patch Adams, Tango & Cash, and Welcome to Collinwood. His performance in the Broadway musical entitled Grand Hotel got him a Tony Award in 1990, and a year after, he bagged an Emmy Award for his role as Coach Herman Stiles in the sitcom Evening Shade.

He was truly a well-celebrated actor as he also won other accolades, such as an Outer Critics Circle Award, a Drama Desk Award, and the Clarence Derwent Prize. The award-winning film, stage, and television actor tested HIV positive but fortunately began treatment on time. He lived a good life for years before he died of an epileptic seizure. Michael was found dead in his home on March 20, 2003, at 50 years old. It was unknown if he had employed a financial advisor to help manage his $2-million net worth.
