STEVEN CANALS AND BILLY PORTER

Steven Canals has spent most of his life hiding in the shadows because he did not want to reveal his gender orientation to the world. Now he has come out of hiding and is ready to fight back against his haters. Having co-created and executively produced the LGBTQ melodrama Pose, Canals made a major statement in the industry. The release of the show received critical acclaim for its style and its passionate direction and creation.

The producer and director have made it his mission to spread awareness of different people’s stories in the LGBTQ community. Speaking for Canals, mentor and fashion designer Billy Porter remarked that being with the Canals was an inspiring, comforting, and fun time. According to Billy, Steven likes to share his vision in promoting awareness of the community. We’ve got to give credit to the two of them to provide us with a relevant and timely show in our time.
