In recent years, the media has been continually speculating on Sherlock Holmes Benedict Cumberbatch’s sexual orientation. He recently opened up with the press about the issue and remarked that he spent some time exploring his sexuality when he was at his boarding school. Some reports even claimed that he was secretly in a relationship with a male associate of his, but sources later revealed that it was only theatre director Sophie Hunter.

Cumberbatch has been vocal about his views on gender and sexual orientation, remarking that he feels genuinely disgusted at the hate that many of his gay friends face.
