Gavin Macleod

Gavin Macleod is an American actor who found fame in the small screen before transitioning to starring in films. He was already a successful television star before finally taking on the mantle of Captain of the Pacific Princess on The Love Boat. To make his resume even more impressive, that wasn’t Gavin’s first tour at sea. His first escapade was when he co-starred with Ernest Borgnine on McHale’s Navy.

Gavin had a unique charm that couldn’t be replicated by anyone else, hence, the decision to place him as Captain on the Pacific Princess. The series was a major hit and was one of Gavin’s more significant roles in his career. In recent times, Gavin has become quite open about his Christianity and has appeared in several religious films such as, This is Your Captain Speaking: My Fantastic Voyage Through Hollywood, Faith and Life.
