Shark Tank | Renewed for Season 13

The American reality television series Shark Tank is the adaptation of the international format Dragons’ Den that originated in Japan in 2001, titled Money Tigers. In the series, it shows entrepreneurs pitching their business models to a panel of five “sharks” or investors who will then decide whether to make investments or not on the proposition. The series was credited with a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Structured Reality Program from 2014 to 2017 and Outstanding Reality Program in 2012 and 2013. In May 2021, it was renewed for its thirteenth season.

As entrepreneurs pitch their ideas to the “sharks,” most often than not, they find some faults and weaknesses in the business model, company valuation, and product of the pitching prospect. The “sharks’ have their own style of approach or personality on the show, such as Kevin O’Leary, who shows a stern disposition in handing out his judgment about the pitched idea or product.
