MacGyver | CBS | Canceled after Season 5

MacGyver is a reboot of the series of the same name, which originally aired under the production of ABC during the mid-’80s to the early-’90s. The series starred Lucas Till as Angus MacGyver, who is an undercover government special agent. He is known for fighting crime with his ingenious engineering capabilities rather than make use of brute force. The show was developed by Peter M. Lenkov, who is also responsible for the reboots of Magnum PI and Hawaii Five-0. MacGyver. Along with the two shows, it takes place in the same universe, which fans dubbed as Lenkov-verse.

MacGyver has had its fair share of ups and downs. To the credit of the show’s writers and production, they have earned reasonable success despite some controversies and off-screen drama. Sadly, in early April of 2021, CBS announced that they would not be renewing MacGyver for a 6th season, airing the final episode on April 30, 2021.
