United States of Al | CBS | Renewed for Season 2

United States of Al is a television sitcom created by CBS and produced by David Goetsch and Maria Ferrari. The latter is known as a producer on the hit 2000s sitcom The Big Bang Theory. The series stars Adhir Kalyan as Al, an Afghan translator, and follows his life as he goes to Columbus, Ohio, with his friend Riley, played by Parker Young, a veteran of the US Marine Corps whom he assisted during his duty.

It started in late 2019 when its television pilot was announced, with production set to begin the following year. In 2020, CBS made efforts to turn the concept into a series, and the expected launch date was around April 2021. Upon its release, it received mixed reviews while still garnering a degree of popularity and interest. As of May 2021, the production team already has the necessary resources to produce another season.
