The Unicorn | CBS | Cancelled After Two Seasons
Possibly one of the few unfortunate ones on this list is CBS’s The Unicorn, which was aired for a total of two seasons from September 2019 to March 2021, for a total of 31 episodes all-in-all. The show follows a group of friends aiming are to help their widowed friend Wade, played by Walton Goggins, grieve and move on after his wife passed on. Wade received a massive following in comedy as he re-entered the chaotic world of dating during the show’s peak. He became quite the popular commodity, all while raising two girls as a single father.
The series started in 2019 as a pilot series, with the network further ramping up its status later in the same year. Created and produced by Bill Martin and Mike Schiff, not long after the series’ release, it garnered positive reviews, giving it much-needed attention and a relatively high degree of popularity. Although it was not to last since, after two seasons, CBS canceled the show in May of 2021.
