Crank Yankers | Comedy Central | Renewed for Season 6

Initially aired in 2002 on Comedy Central, the show Crank Yankers features actual prank calls made by show regulars. Famous guests are re-enacted onscreen by puppets for visual assistance to show viewers what happens during calls. It initially saw a production by Adam Carolla and Jimmy Kimmel, the famed late-night talk show host. Although ending shortly in 2002, it would later resurface on MTV2 in 2007, airing for one month before ending again.

However, in 2019, Kimmel would announce in his self-titled show Jimmy Kimmel Live! that the show would have a revival in Comedy Central with 20 episodes, this time, including pranks on social media. His brother, Jonathan Kimmel, served as the executive producer and showrunner, receiving credit for the show’s 5th season, which aired in 2019, and its 5th season in 2020. As of May of 2021, it would repeat another season with 20 episodes, paving the way to 90+ episodes for the series.
