FRANKLIN DELANO ROOSEVELT

Before he began his tenure as president, Franklin Roosevelt, with a high IQ of 150.5, attended Harvard and Columbia University, where he studied law. He served as an assistant secretary of the Navy and guided the US through World War II and the Great Depression. Roosevelt also instituted the New Deal to improve the country’s economy and other legislative measures such as the Social Security Act, which are still in place today. His wife, Eleanor, was also one of the most beloved first ladies in the White House.

A fan of paperback mysteries, the US president once pitched an idea to his magazine editor friend. The mystery story was then written by six writers who had it published in a serialized form in the mid-1930s. A year later, he received writing credits when his story was turned into a motion picture.
