JIMMY CARTER
Jimmy Carter hails from humble beginnings in the rural town of Georgia, but he was engaged in important diplomatic work throughout his time as president. After his years in the White House, he continued humanitarian work, received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, became a professor at Emory, and won the Nobel Peace Prize. He established the Carter Center to expand and promote human rights and extensively traveled to monitor elections, conduct peace negotiations, and advance disease eradication and prevention in developing nations. He is considered a key figure for Habitat for Humanity, a charitable organization.
With an IQ of 156.8, Carter is surprisingly a speed-reader. He and his wife enrolled in a speed-reading course and could reportedly read 2,000 words per minute, even with a 95% comprehension rate. He also has more than 30 book credits, ranging from poetry to political memoirs.
